Newtown to Feature Spiritual Journey from Educator and Nonprofit Consultant

Ari Betof, a member of Newtown Quaker Meeting, former Quaker school Head, and co-founder and partner of Mission & Data will present his Spiritual Journey to the Newtown Quaker Meeting Adult Class at 9:45a.m. on Sunday, December 12, at the historic Friends Meetinghouse, 219 Court Street (http://www.newtownfriendsmeeting.org).  People who are vaccinated and wear masks may attend in person.  Others may attend via Zoom.  Meeting for Worship in the manner of Friends will follow at 11 a.m. 

Ari Betof is the co-founder and partner of Mission & Data and chief advancement officer at Minerva University. He is a nationally recognized expert in nonprofit organizational stewardship and financial sustainability.

Ari’s consulting work draws upon fifteen years of leadership and governance experience building thriving organizations and promoting mission-aligned revenue growth. He has served as an independent school trustee, head of school, administrator, and teacher.

Ari’s governance experience includes serving two terms on the Board of Directors of the Friends Council on Education (FCE) and as a member of FCE’s Development Committee and the National Friends Education Fund Working Group. He has been a trustee of Newtown Friends School and Cambridge Friends School. Ari served as Head of New Garden Friends School in North Carolina and previously was director of institutional advancement and director of enrollment management at George School, from which he graduated.  

Ari graduated from the Guilford College honors program with degrees in physics and mathematics. He earned his doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Pennsylvania with a focus on financial and organizational sustainability. His doctoral dissertation, “Leading in the Light: A Study of Financial and Organizational Sustainability of Friends Schools,” was awarded with distinction. Ari graduated with his MBA from Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management where he was an Emerging Markets Institute Fellow and recognized as a Poets & Quants 2021 Best & Brightest EMBA. Ari, his wife, and two daughters live in Bucks County, PA and are members of Newtown Friends Meeting.
