Entrepreneur Michael Daley to Present Spiritual Journey to Newtown Quaker Meeting

Michael J. Daley, Entrepreneur, Founder and CEO of OrthogenRx, Inc. and now Principal of Cognate Consultants LLC and an Angel Investor will present his Spiritual Journey to the Newtown Meeting Adult Class at 9:45a.m. on Sunday, October 26 at the historic Quaker Meetinghouse, 219 Court Street (http://www.newtownfriendsmeeting.org).  Meeting for Worship in the manner of Friends will follow at 11 a.m. The public is invited.

Michael Daley became motivated to conduct research on mechanisms of disease and immunology while a graduate student at Northeastern University and continued his training as a post-doctoral fellow, and later as an Instructor in the Department of Biology at M.I.T.

He started his industry career in R & D at the former American Cyanamid Company, now Pfizer.  He founded OrthogenRx, Inc. in 2013, obtained two FDA product approvals by 2017, and transitioned to a fully integrated commercial company with 26 employees and sales exceeding $80MM by 2021.

Daley was the 2021 Philadelphia Alliance for Capital and Technology CEO of the Year, 2019 Innovative Company of the Year from New Jersey Tech Council, 2018 ECHO top 50 Irish Owned Companies, twice recipient of the Entrepreneur of the Year from the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center (2018 & 2020), and recipient of the Scientific Achievement Award from American Cyanamid.

In January 2022, Michael Daley negotiated the sale of OrthogenRx to Avanos (annual global sales of $750M) for a total deal value of over $200M.

Presently, Dr. Daley is active in consulting and Angel investing in the regional biopharma and medtech ecosystem as well as private equity investments, real estate and opening a veteran’s home in north Philadelphia. He was raised as a Baptist and has been a convinced Quaker for 20 years. Actively involved in local philanthropy,  he has donated to over 30 charities including numerous Quaker organizations.

Michael received his B.A. degree in Biology from Northeastern University, started graduate education at Washington University School of Medicine, and later at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in the Pathology Departments, receiving a M.S. and Ph.D. respectively.

Michael Daley has two daughters, Bridget and Elizabeth, and enjoys spending time with them and his 2-year-old granddaughter, Persephone, born on his birthday.

Newtown Friends Meeting is open to the public, with Sunday School classes for children and adults at 9:45 a.m. and worship based on expectant silence “after the manner of Friends” at 11 a.m.
