Jennifer Hubbard, a quality specialist with the Law School Admission Council, will present her spiritual journey at the Newtown Meetinghouse, 219 Court Street, at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday, January 14, 2024
“I’m honored to be sharing my spiritual journey story,” said Hubbard. “I will be giving some historical background of growing up as a pastor’s kid in California during the Jesus movement, moving to the East Coast during college, discussing how my faith and spirituality have evolved, and how I discovered Quakerism and have become a convinced Friend.”
Following the presentation, there will be worship in the manner of Friends at 11:00 a.m. with people speaking out of silence as they are moved to do so. The public is welcome at all events. For additional information, visit newtownfriendsmeeting.org.
Hubbard worked at a publishing company until she had three children and became a full-time caregiver until they were all in school.
She recently answered the call to become a spiritual director and is currently training at Oasis Ministries where she will receive her certification in May.
Hubbard and her husband, Greg, live in Newtown. Their three children are now young adults. And the couple has one “adorable cat.” Jennifer enjoys reading, listening to music, attending concerts, hiking, watching basketball, and traveling.
Jennifer has a bachelor’s degree in English and a graduate-level certificate in Christian counseling.
Newtown Friends Meeting, co-founded by the Quaker artist and minister, Edward Hicks, in 1815, holds services every First Day (Sunday).
