Peter Vari, member of Newtown Quaker Meeting and engineer, will speak on Solar Power Explained and its Feasibility in Newtown to the adult class at the Newtown Quaker Meetinghouse, 219 Court Street, on Sunday, November 24 at 9:45 a.m. Meeting for Worship in the manner of Friends will begin at 11 a.m. The public is invited to attend both events.
Peter’s presentation will discuss the history of electricity generation, transmission, and distribution in the US and the effect of the renewable energy generation on this network. It will explore the technical and economic impact of solar power and its feasibility in the Newtown area.
Peter Vari, with a business partner, started and operated a solar power installation company in lower Buck County from 2009 to 2013. Peter’s company has installed megawatts of residential and commercial solar power in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, New York, Connecticut, and Long Island.
Peter graduated from the Polytechnic University of Budapest (BME) with degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Automation Controls in 1979 in Hungary. In 1981 he, his wife and their son immigrated to the US. Peter spent most of his carrier in the field of manufacturing automation. Peter has established five companies in the fields of machine building, factory floor maintenance, automation, real estate, and solar power generation.
